Lib Tech can be credited with introducing perhaps the biggest innovation in ski and snowboard technology in recent years - the rocker shape. The skate banana was the original board to have this inverted camber design and not a great deal has been changed for the 2012 version. Both the longitudinal and torsional flex is soft and buttery, when combined with the rockered shape this board becomes a jibbers dream. A board so focused on one task usually has to compromise elsewhere. The skate banana does not perform particularly well on pistes, stability at speed is fairly poor and performing quick turns on steep terrain is particularly difficult. It is however a fun board in powder as the rocker shape gives you incredible float but in reality the best place for this board is in the park.
