We’re not sure any place is cool enough to be worth a quarter of million for a week’s stay, but – complete with bulletproof glass – Chalet N would doubtless suit the paranoid president of a small country.

Sleeping a maximum of 24 people, it has 26 staff, so a little over one per guest, just about the right ratio we think.

All suites have 3D-TVs, and the spa has a hay sauna, an ice fountain and salt gallery steam bath. And if you’re plagued by helmet hair, you can get it tidied by the in-house stylist.

When showering (in your rainforest shower) after mixing with common people on the slopes, you can always pull the Swarovski crystal curtains behind you.

Price on request, but believed to be from £230,000 to £270,000 a week
