On test, the Didriksons Yed jacket showed itself to be a great value jacket, maybe better suited to occasional skiers than serious winter athletes

very good value
faux fur hood trim was irritating

The Yed is a great value urban inspired winter jacket; it won't suit serious winter athletes but if you do one week a year in the mountains and spend the rest of the winter sheltering from Britain's miserable climate it may appeal.

The generously sized adjustable hood comes with a detachable faux fur trim for the mountain man look but I suspect a lot of people will remove this as the 'fur' gets in your face and restricts vision.

The jacket itself is waterproof, breathable and windproof with all seams taped, and it's well insulated (which does make it bulky and quite heavy). Useful features include a ski pass pocket on the left sleeve, five outer pockets and a large mesh inner pocket and a powder skirt which can be attached to ski pants, so all said you get a good deal for your money.
