The Beatty is significantly longer than most ski jackets, which some ladies may not love, but the advantage of this is that it keeps your backside super warm - a good thing for us snowboarders, who like to sit down given half a chance. When the temperature dipped to minus 18 the Beatty wasn't quite warm enough - a down number was the order of the day - but when the mercury recovered to just below freezing, and with a good base layer underneath, it was perfect.
Grommet arm venting means that when the sun shines you can cool down easily, and a Lycra-topped powder skirt keeps the snow out of your trousers if you venture into the fresh stuff.
The removable fur hood looks great but seriously restricts your perpheral vision, so probably best to avoid the Eskimo look on the piste.

Westbeach Beatty Jacket
With it's tag line 'from piste to chic', the duffle-coat style Beatty is certainly a good looking jacket. The three quarter-length jacket is aimed at the more fashion-conscious skiers and boarders out there and is packed with neat features like knitted cuffs, over-sized buttons, a removable, fur, hood, and a secure inner pocket for your iPod, iPhone or any other pocket-sized gadget. It looks as good on the snow as it does in the bar and will probably even turn a few heads..
