The Rocker 2 was developed by Salomon’s extensive backcountry pro team to reflect the needs of today’s backcountry freestyle rider. The tip and tail have honeycomb cores providing a lower swing weight; this allows the skis to be thrown around in the air much easier than your average wide ‘n heavy freeride ski – great for throwing spins and flips off natural hits. Flotation is pretty much guaranteed by the powder rocker (high elevations in the tip and tail of the ski) and a massive 122mm waist width. The ski is responsive and has plenty of energy thanks to Salomon’s efforts at making it lightweight, as an added bonus they’ve used the knowledge from the backcountry pro team and given it a durable sidewall construction to ensure it can last through the season when used hard.
