chemmy_locomotionBritain’s leading ski racer Chemmy Alcott is going from strength to strength on ITV1’s Dancing on Ice as she received the royal seal of approval on Sunday night’s show from her friend Zara Phillips.

In the audience with her husband Mike Tindall, the pair cheered Chemmy on to her highest score yet, a 20.0 from the judges for her dance with partner Sean Rice to Kylie Minogue’s Locomotion.

In an earlier interview with the Telegraph, Chemmy revealed how her friendship with Zara has helped her rehabilitation from her potentially career-ending crash in 2010. The 29-year-old is on a training timeline that takes her to the next Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, in 2014, and spent several months at Zara’s home in Gloucestershire last summer.

“Zara knows all about rehabilitation as she’s helped Mike [Tindall, former England rugby captain] through his injuries,” Chemmy says. “She also understands my disappointment. She’s done everything right for the past two Olympics, and then her horse has been injured.”
