ellmau lift

After 44 years of service and carrying 34 million passengers, time is being called on the old Hartkaiser funicular railway.

In its place sits a new development including a sports shop, a heated ski storage area, restaurant, après-ski bar plus a new underground car park with more than 150 places as well as the new 10-seater cable car.

The cable car which Skiwelt boasts is ‘one of the most modern cable cars in the world’ will transport skiers and snowboarders 2.1km up the mountain to an altitude of 1530m in less than nine minutes. The lift is capable of carrying up to 3200 people an hour, with the luxurious additions of WIFI and heated seats.
