Skiers and snowboarders can expect an unusual challenge at the XXL-GIANT slalom on Saturday, the 27th November at St Anton - opening weekend.

The longest giant slalom in the world is not only a breathtaking three kilometres long from the start at Kapall to the finishing line at the World Cup Stadium, there are also 140 gates and many rivals that will need to be conquered.

From noon onwards, participants will be starting at half minute intervals. Sporting rules at the St. Anton XXL-GIANT slalom are pretty relaxed, meaning that taking a break is allowed just as much as overtaking. Even though skiing through all those gates will require some technical ability and endurance, it is open to all participants who have the confidence to take part.

In addition, interesting workshops on avalanche awareness will be held on Sunday, as well as a rally in the ski resort.
