Brilliant design
Very expensive

This is a perfect example of top quality Scandinavian design; expensive for sure, but it works superbly, is easy to use and looks so good we wanted to keep it on the car roof even when we got home.

The Thule Excellence will transport up to six-to-eight pairs of skis or snowboards - or just a stack of bags. It uses ‘diffuser technology’ to optimise air flow around the box and thus reduce fuel consumption, and can be easily mounted and attached by one person using a pre-installed ‘Power Click’ quick-mount system with integrated torque indicator for a secure fit on your roof rack (It will fit pretty much any design of roof bar).

There are internal straps to lash your gear down and it’s secured still further once you fasten the lid by an integrated loading net and crash nose. You can open the lid from either side, and it has a lock to ensure your stuff stays put (the key can only be removed if all the box’s locking points are securely closed).

The Excellence has a ‘forward’ mounting position on the roof so you can open your boot/tailgate and even comes with little extras like an internal light and a cover to protect it when stored.
