Heather Mills is to have a trial for the British disabled ski team's development squad. If successful, she may represent the UK at downhill ski racing in the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi.

Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife will be 46 years old by the time of the games - older than the normal age range accepted by the squad. However an exception has been made for her as she has ‘shown good levels of fitness and determination,’ said British team manager Dave Chugg, who described Ms Mills as a ‘very good recreational skier.’

The British Ski Team has been hit by recent funding cuts but it is unclear if this will affect the team’s ability to run trials.
