On an emotional and tense morning, Jenny Jones secured team GB's first ever medal on snow after taking the lead with a score of 87.25 in a near perfect second run, and suffering an agonising wait as 10 riders tried to better her score. Jamie Anderson took gold with 95.25 with Finland's Enni Rukajarvi taking the silver on 92.50.

This is slopestyles first appearance in the Winter Olympics and what a spectacle it has been! The men's competition yesterday saw two British riders claim top ten finishes but Jenny Jones managed to nail her run and get onto the podium this morning after a long and rocky road to competing at Sochi.

At 33 she was close to retiring before discovering her sport would be at the games in Sochi and, after battling injury more recently after suffering a training run accident, her first aim was un-doubtedly to make the final, so to claim the bronze was a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to Jenny on a wonderful acheivement which is certain to raise the profile of British snowboarding in the future.

A special shout out to the amazing commentary pairing of Ed Leigh and Tim Larwood who have bought the competition to life for those watching at home, ably assisted for the final by Aimee Fuller, Britains other slopestyle competitor who went out in the semi-final. All three were reduced to tears once the medal was secured!
