Five family favourites

France’s Isère region has all your family needs covered, with its five Famille Plus Mountain resorts: Les 2 Alpes, Alpe d’Huez and Vaujany, in Oisans; Chamrousse, in the Belledonne range; as well as Villard de Lans/Corrençon, in Vercors. All of these resorts are less than two hours’ drive away from the Grenoble Alpes Isère airport.

The Famille Plus Mountain marque is your guarantee that the resort knows how to cater for families. Enjoy child-friendly accommodation, shops and amenities on-hand, and of course activities suitable for the whole family – many with special family discounts.

As well as the best childcare facilities and kids clubs, there are plenty of lively family things to do – both indoors and out – including traditional winter favourites such as sledging, snowshoe walks and ice skating, as well as the more offbeat igloo-buildin

Romantic escapes

There is no need to choose between a holiday filled with winter sports or a romantic weekend away.

The resorts of Alpe d’Huez, Les 2 Alpes, Vaujany, Chamrousse, Les 7 Laux, and Villard de Lans/Corrençon will give you the romantic ski holiday of your dreams with cosy accommodation, candlelit dinners, relaxing spa time and original activities. One treat not to be missed for adventurous couples is to spend a night in the Igloo village in Chamrousse!

Enjoy cosy meals for two in the superb hotel restaurants, or smaller, more intimate eateries. You can even book an impressive panoramic fondue dinner in the Enversin d’Oz cable car next to Vaujany.

For unforgettable memories, try night-time or twilight skiing, take a paragliding or hot air balloon flight or go for a ride in a dog sled or horse-drawn sleigh.

Ski & party with friends

Friends can turn a ski trip into one big winter party, so if that’s your plan, Les 2 Alpes and Alpe d’Huez, the two biggest ski resorts in Isère, have everything you need for the liveliest of holidays.

Sporty, dynamic, and trendy, Les 2 Alpes has 25 bars, 3 nightclubs and even dancefloors on the slopes. Try the 6th edition of Ride Festival, which this year runs from 14-20 December, and is set to attract around 3,500 people for a week of board sports, après-ski fun and concerts.

In Alpe d’Huez, after a day spent exploring this incredible ski area or challenging yourself in the snow-park, the serious après begins in the resort’s lively bars. And there are two big music festivals, attracting skiers from all over the world. Tomorrowland, a celebration of electronic music, runs from 14-21 March, and the Big BBQ Party in La Folie Douce is in April.
