The French alpine ski resort of Chamonix is leading the way in enticing visitors back to the slopes by offering free ski lessons this winter. What’s the catch? Well, apart from school holidays being exempt, there really isn’t one.

Guests staying in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley this winter can benefit from 2 to 6-day free group ski lessons. The offer will be available outside of school holiday periods and is valid for all levels and ages and for all types of ski activity: downhill, off-piste, ski touring and cross-country.
The aim of this unique offer - a tourist office initiative, supported by the Chamonix Valley municipality - is to thank customers for their loyalty, to encourage guests to experience something new and at the same time, to support local businesses who have endured difficult times over the past 20 months.

The free group ski lessons will be available from 7 January to 4 February and from 7 March to 1 April 2022 to all guests staying a minimum of 3 nights in commercial accommodation (hotels, apartments, gites etc.) Bookings can be made directly with the resort’s ski school partners up until three days before the first lesson (subject to availability) on presentation of your booking confirmation or your guest card.

The ESF in Chamonix, Les Houches, Argentière, Vallorcine, and Evolution 2 are all participating in what is a wonderful opportunity to take your first lessons, brush up on technique or just get your ski legs back after the long Covid-enforced break. The free introduction to off-piste skiing includes avalanche awareness.
