Playful versatility that takes you anywhere on the mountain
The fact we could only borrow them for a week

The Invictus 89Ti is the classic all mountain offering from Armada. As with most Armada skis, they're immediately pretty to look at, but what's under the bonnet?

We find skis that are packed full of tech, high-spec production materials and well-designed features. Theoretically, we should be handsomely rewarded once we start sliding on the snow.

And we are. We haven't always got on with every Armada model, but the Invictus 89Ti certainly doesn't let us down. Our test team agreed across the board that they are fun, responsive, agile and perhaps most importantly, highly versatile when it comes to different conditions and different parts of the mountain.

On the groomed stuff their fantastic mix of flex, torsion and width will make you think you're on full-blown GS skis. They grip and carve through both softly groomed corduroy as well as nasty, concrete-like hardpack.

Take them into the powder and you have a different animal under your feet. The 89mm width provides a float that feels more 105, yet they are poppy, zippy and nippy - meaning that entry level off-piste skiers will enjoy the stability, whilst experts can happily play in tight spots, trees and narrow couloirs.

For most levels of skier they promote growing confidence, it's no wonder they have lots of fans, we now humbly add ourselves to that long list.

One of the overriding strengths of the Invictus 89Ti is that they're easy to turn and for this reason they would suit a huge range of skiers, from those looking to discover all mountain skiing to experts that want to carve it up on-piste and play in the powder all day long.

At £500 they represent excellent value too, they would make an ideal option for seasonaire's who want a one ski set up; but that doesn't mean you should ignore them if you already have a dozen others at your disposal.
