Putting the cost of this ski aside (we'll come back to that in a minute) this is a well-rounded piece of kit that delivers genuine all mountain performance. Kastle skis can be recognised by the distinctive Hollowtech 2.0 technology which is twinned with a progressive rise shape.
Unnecessary layers and weight have been stripped out of the tip to make the ski more reactive, stable and precise. One of our test team commented, 'this ski has great edge hold on-piste for an all mountain ski which is no surprise considering the construction is pretty much the same as an ex-race ski'.
The Hollowtech tip can make the skis sound a bit clattery in chopped up snow but the edges hold fast and it performed really well. The skis are slightly wider under foot and have a longer radius which makes them versatile and adaptable to most piste and snow conditions.
Although our testers enjoyed these skis they did question the price tag and whether they would be worth the additional investment over others in the market. Still, if you have the money and a smart-looking, hand-made and hand-matched good performance ski is what you're after they're definitely worth a look.
