Club Med, Serre Chevalier, France
The classic French all-inclusive resort chain has been providing family ski holidays since 1956. Long considered cheap and cheerful, it’s gone noticeably more upmarket in recent years. Its hotel in Serre Chevalier, which was refurbished ahead of the 2024-25 winter season, is a case in point. The public areas are stylish and the new family-friendly rooms feature expanded bathrooms, with double sinks and large showers as standard.
As everywhere with Club Med, there are kids’ clubs for all ages, which run all day. If you wanted to, you could drop them off at 8.30 and not see them again til 5pm. Ski lessons, all meals, drinks, and a liftpass are included in the price, making family fun as faff-free as possible.
Club Med Serre Chevalier offers 7 nights all-inclusive for a family of three from £4,831.
Hotel Familiamus, Maranza, Italy
Shaped like a swirling, hairpin turn on a steep mountain road, the Hotel Familiamus in Italy’s German-speaking Süd-Tyrol region, is an architectural marvel. The building—designed by local architect Ralf Dejaco—was apparently inspired “by the form of glaciers and the tongues of moraines.” In summer, its roof teems with plant life. In winter, it offers direct access to the slopes of Maranza. As the name suggests, the hotel is designed to be family friendly.
With large rooms that can sleep up to six, a 1,000m2 indoor kids play area, childcare options and family specific menus, it’s ideal for a multi-generational getaway. The views out across the Dolomites are stunning too.
The Familiamus offers 7 nights all-inclusive for a family of three from £4,375.
Alpino Baby Family Hotel, Andalo, Italy
Andalo, overlooking the Brenta Dolomites in Italy, is a brilliantly family-friendly resort. It’s got 50km of slopes, but they’re laid out in such a way that it’s almost impossible to get lost, with everything funneling down to beginner-friendly base areas. There are multiple kid-friendly hotels in the village, but the king of them all has to be the Alpino Baby Family Hotel, which is pretty much a families only zone.
Here, the kids club will take care of your young ones from the age of one month upwards; the kids can eat in their own supervised restaurant, allowing parents to enjoy a relaxing dinner, and everything—including excursions and picnics— is included. Oh, and there’s a built-in aquapark. Not bad eh?

Schweizerhof, Lenzerheide, Switzerland
The Schweizerhof in the Swiss resort of Lenzerheide was first opened in 1904. But despite its long and storied history, this four star hotel is anything but stuffy, and prides itself on its family-friendly atmosphere. There are large and spacious family rooms, and a special family restaurant, with an extensive kids menu.
Activities are laid on every day by the Andalina Club, which caters for children from the age of two upwards, and childcare extends into the evening, allowing parents to enjoy a quiet dinner a deux should they wish. There’s also a full sauna and spa, for when you really need to relax.
The Hotel Schweizerhof offers 7 nights b&b for a family of three from £5,562.
Hotel Ellmauhof, Saalbach, Austria
Austrian Kinderhotels set a high bar when it comes to kid-friendly holidays, both in summer and in winter. And the four star Generation Hotel Ellmauhof in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one of the jewels in the group’s crown. It’s run by the Schwabl Family, with parents Stefan and Christine and grandparents Gertraud and Konrad taking charge, while the three members of the youngest generation have the run of the place.
The hotel offers ski lessons, a farm with animals they can interact with, a swimming pool and a kid-friendly spa. Saalbach-Hinterglemm has over 270km of pistes, with lots of green, blue and red runs.
The Ellmauhof offers 7 nights all-inclusive for a family of three from £5,445.
UCPA, Les Deux Alpes, France
Here’s a cheat code if you’re looking for an affordable ski holiday in Les Deux Alpes: UCPA is a chain of not-for-profit hostels, once part-funded by the French government, whose mission is to provide the public with affordable, adventure holidays—including ski trips. Many of their packages, which include food, lessons, and lift passes, are geared towards young adults, and a youth-hostel vibe often pervades the centres.
But they also block out “family weeks”. You can expect sociable meal times, and probably can’t expect a spa, but the service is always smiley and the standard of ski lessons is second to none.
UCPA offers 7 nights in L2A, full board, with lift pass, lessons and equipment rental included, for a family of three for £696.
