They look way more expensive than they actually are
Thigh pockets would be a good addition for those looking to carry an avalanche transceiver.

New for 18/19 the Minnesota snowpants from Protest are ideal for skiers and snowboarders looking to ride the resort in style.

Insulated without being bulky, the Minnesota pants are immediately comfortable and strike just the right level of baggy cool that will appeal to a wide range of ages and a variety of style preferences.

Waterproof (5,000mm), breathable (5,000 grs) and stretchy, the Minnesota pants offer an impressive level of technical features for the low price point thanks to the Geotech Fabric. Other features of note include the articulated knees that also add rugged styling, antislip inner waist band with thermoknit, sealed nylon zippers and belt loops.

The high rear elastic waistband has been designed to keep the powder where it belongs and if they do happen to feel a little baggy on you the Minnesota's shell fabric beltloops and adjustable waist enable you to fit to preference.

Colour-wise, the Minnesota pants come in a range of shades from bright Flora pink to more muted tones of True Black, Dark Grey and Dark Lava. As a result, they combine well with a range of jackets in Protest's winter 2018/19 line up and we are particularly fans of combining the Flora pink Minnesota pants with the Ground Blue or Dark Lava Giggile jacket.

The Minnesota pants will be ideal for regular resort skiers and snowboarders but may come unstuck if you're hoping to push your boundaries in the park or backcountry. Whilst they are built to stretch and move, higher level dynamic snowsports enthusiasts may find the fit a little restricted. Similarly, anyone looking to go beyond the resort into the backcountry will be looking for pants with more freeride/backcountry specific features such as ventilation zips and/or thigh pockets for avalanche transceivers.

What the Minnesota pants do really well however is affordable style and if you had to guess the price, you would be forgiven for pitching it at double the actual outlay. As such they are the embodiment of what Protest is all about as a brand - function, fashion and a whole lot of fun.
