Don't go too fast on hard pack slopes as they get a little twitchy

The React R6 model sits in the lower middle of the collection, suiting intermediate to advanced skiers who like to stay firmly on groomed slopes.

They would make an ideal first ski for someone looking to progress into more advanced carving style turns, but they don't quite have enough oomph to carry a skier looking to progress into their first level instructor qualifications - for that go up to the R8 HP or Ti versions.

What they do have is a super smooth and easy transition into the turn, created in part by the 'On Trail' tip Rocker and new 'Flex Tip Technology' that softens the front of the ski up without losing its edge grip potential.

Once in the turn, the oversized sidecut and full sidewall construction provide a really solid grip on all but the very iciest conditions - and when we say 'ice', we mean ice, not hard-pack snow. They really do help grow confidence during the turn with their excellent edge hold.

Where they start to show limitations, as to be expected, is on high speed turns when you want to crank things over on full-throttle mode. This is where a lack of metal plate is evident and stability suffers. Having said that, for the skier level the R6 is aimed at, Rossignol's Line Control Technology (LCT) tightens things up enough without making you work too hard. And this is where the benefits are then apparent, the R6 certainly doesn't want to work you too hard, in fact they are so easy going you can sit back and enjoy the view.
