The Salomon Assassin appears to be a good value for money snowboard, as it's well made, with the construction being a cross between Salomon's most progressive powder snow and freestyle models. The board feels solid and is comfortable when charging around the mountain, although it does chatter on the knees slightly when at higher speeds. We had fun on the groomers and the board has a fast turn initiation. The Assassin is best ridden with aggression to get the most out of it.

The Assassin has a mid-flex rating and is a fun board for the playing in the park, and performing butters and presses - it also features Salomon's very own Popstar Booster that initiates good pop for ollies and kickers. It's forgiving, but we wouldn't be so confident on a washed-out landing off a big hitter. Being a true twin, switch riding was a breeze.

The board design is 'Rocker Out Camber' and has a raised flat section across the middle with Rocker either end. This worked well for powder, the Assassin held its own and floated like a mystic ninja and was a very enjoyable ride.
